Welcome to the Balkan

The Balkan restaurant first fired up its grill on Banff Avenue in 1982. This Banff restaurant was the creation of Greek families out of their element in the cold Canadian Rockies who wished to bring the authentic flavors and warm festive atmosphere of the Mediterranean to this high mountain town.

Two locations and over 25 years later we’re still serving up hearty Greek home cooking famous Canada-wide. The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and numerous newspapers have praised the restaurant in the past for its great atmosphere, excellent authentic dishes and great value. A superb Greek and Mediterranean dining experience that appeals to all ages.

We believe that dining should be an experience unto itself. Our establishment is the embodiment of the Greek philosophy of philoxenia (hospitality). When you enter our restaurant you can be assured of the freshest food using only quality ingredients that are the staple of the healthy Mediterranean diet.
