Get ready, get set... SNOW DAYS!

Get Ready, Get Set, SnowDays!

It is always a 'snow day' in Banff National Park

January 14 - February 12, 2012

Banff National Park is the cool place to be this winter – in more ways than one! Celebrate the wonders of this exciting season with SnowDays, a fun-filled month of heart pumping, mid-week activities and weekend festivals jam-packed with adventures of all kinds.

Ninety-five years ago, Banff hosted its first Banff Winter Carnival, which saw enthusiastic participants hit the ice on the Bow River for some curling, and strap on their skis and snowshoes for fun in the snow. Nearly a century later, a full slate of festivals and activities bring those traditions to life: ice climbing, outdoor skating, hockey, ice carving, curling, snow sculptures, and more!

Create your own snowy adventure by pairing a weekend festival with ongoing activities. The new Mountain Adventure Festival, January 14 & 15, gets you outdoors for a serious adrenaline rush.  This year’s Ice Magic Festival, January 20 - 29 is now two weekends for twice the magic! See the world’s best ice carvers and revel in the new ice playground. To top it all off February 11 & 12 introduces Banff’s first everTAKE IT TO THE STREET ball hockey tournament.

Do you love treasure hunts?  Then accept the SnowDays Heritage Geocache challenge!
